Usage: Methandrostenolone is one of the most effective drugs of steroid group expressing anabolic activity. Basic reason for methandrostenolone application is derangement of protein anabolism under cachexy of different aetiology, asthenia, infectious and other diseases following by loss of protein. The medication is prescribed to reconvalescents after serious injuries, operations, burns. The data were reported on methandrostenolone application in endocrinology at interstitial-pituitary insufficiency, chronic adrenocortical insufficiency, thyrotoxicosis, diabetic angiopathies (retinopathy and nephropathy), steroidal diabetes, pituitary dwarfism. It is widely used in a therapy of chronic coronary deficiency and cardiac infarction, myocarditis, rheumatic heart lesions and atherosclerotic cardiosclerosis, stomach and duodenum ulcer, chronic ulcerous renal diseases following by loss of protein and azotemia, chronic lungs diseases. Methandrostenolone is applied as API in drug formulations in forms of tablets and creams.
